Foot care: herbs for the feet


        FOOT CARE: HERBS FOR THE FEET
To refresh and revive tired feet after a hard day, make up a herbal infusion of any or a combination of the following herbs for a foot bath. Bay leaves, calendula, comfrey leaves, cater oil leaves, hyssop, peppermint, rose, jasmine, lavender, lime flowers, myrtle, maidenhair fern, mustard seeds, St Joh's wort, nettle, pine needles, sage, thyme, chamomile, elder flowers, horsetail, angelica, rosemary, lovage, yarrow.
Method: Pour 2 litres of boiling water onto 4 cups of herbs, leave to steep for 1/2 hour. Strain and pour brew into a foot bath.
Herbal Foot Lotion: 40 ml marigold infusion, 5 ml lemon juice, 5 ml rose water. Make up a herbal infusion of marigold, add lemon juice and rose water. Splash lotion onto your feet to relieve hot aching feet.
Herbal Foot oil: 10 ml St. John's wort, 10 ml calendula, 30 ml sesame oil, add 10 drops lavender, 5 drops lemon, 5 drops rosemary, 5 drops tea tree. For best results massage into your feet after a foot bath.
Kefir Foot Care Recipes
Kefir & Vinegar Mask: 150ml kefir, 5ml vinegar Mix ingredients together, Apply all over the feet, ankles and heels. Leave for 5 minutes then rinse and dry well.
Kefir & Potato Mask: 6 tbsp. kefir, 1 large potato. Peel and grate the potato finely then add kefir and mix well. Apply to your feet. Relax for 10 minutes with your feet elevated. Rinse and dry well, then apply a foot oil.
By adding marbles or pebbles to your foot bath it can massage the soles of your feet, this can improve the circulation and stimulate the body, it also assists in breaking down the crystallisation that gathers around the nerve endings in the feet.
