EYE CARE: HERBAL EYE REFRESHERS
Calendula: soothe sore inflamed eyes
Chamomile: reduces inflammation or infections of the eyes.
Corn flower: soothes and help reduces puffiness
Carrot: washing the eyes with the water in which carrots have beenboiled gives relief to eye strain.
Cucumber: to relieve tired inflamed eyes place a slice of cucumber over each eye after a long day, it does wonders.
Fennel seeds: reduces inflammation and gives the eyes a sparkle

Mallow: softens the skin around the eyes
Papaya/Mint: minimises dark circles under the eyes
Wormwood: reduces inflammation and redness
Make a strong decoction of the herbs, strain and soak gauze squares or lint and squeeze out excess liquid. Apply over closed eye lids while resting
Turmeric: is useful for conjunctivitis, make a mild decoction of turmeric powder with water, it has a cooling effect.
Kombucha: apply a kombucha compress diluted 1:1 to the eye lid, leave them closed for 10 minutes. Repeat 2-3 times a day. Castor oil: can be used to remove any foreign object from the eyes for example splinters or metal, put 3 drops of cator oil directly into the eye, put an eye pad of cotton wool soaked in calendula infusion over the eye
lids and wrap up for 12 hours. Repeat treatment till the object appears on the surface of the eye, then carefully remove.
Castor oil is a very effective eye make-up remover, it keeps the skin moist and supple.
Coconut: to treat cataracts place the fresh juice of a coconut into an eye dropper, apply as much as the eyes can hold. Then cover eyes with a hot cloth and lay down for 15 minutes.
Cucumber: is a natural astringent, contains an anti-wrinkle hormone and is suitable to use around the eyes.
Kombucha: apply kombucha tea around the eyes and neck twice a day to soften and smooth the skin. To reduce puffiness use kombucha tea eye pads.
Potato: have a toning effect on the skin and reduce puffiness or bags under the eyes. For eye strain - place raw potato slices onto your eyes. It will take away the pain and inflammation

To improve the condition of weak short eye lashes apply castor oil
sparingly each night for a few months
